The Assam tea bush grows in a lowland region, in the valley of the Brahmaputra River, an area of clay soil rich in the nutrients of the floodplain. The climate varies between a cool, arid winter and a hot, humid rainy season—conditions ideal for growing tea. Because of its lengthy growing season and generous rainfall, Assam is one of the most prolific tea-producing regions in the world. Each year, the tea estates of Assam collectively yield approximately 1,500 million pounds (680,500,000 kg) of tea.

To ensure consistently same taste every year we have created extraordinary blend consists of finest TGBFOP-1 second flush black tea from as many as 12 estates. The most known and reputable gardens are: Behora Tea Estate, Harmutty Tea Estate, Khongea Tea Estate, Dikom Tea Estate, Hattialli Tea Estate, Mokalbari Tea Estate, Bogapani Tea Estate.

This blend with high caffeine content and intense flavour is excellent on its own but will work perfectly with milk, sugar or lemon as well.

Enjoy perfect tea until stock lasts.

Cup: deep, burgundy-red

Taste: full bodied, malty, sweet and pungent

Did you know? The Assam plant Camellia assamica, is, in fact, a small tree, which grows to be about 10-13 meters in height. Its leaves are thin, bright, tend to have a tapering apex and contains higher caffeine level than Camellia sinensis, which is smaller, about 2-3 meters in height. In harvesting, or plucking, the shoot removed usually includes the bud and the two youngest leaves. The weight of 2,000 freshly plucked China bush shoots may be 1 pound (0.45 kg); the same number of Assam shoots may weigh 2 pounds (0.9 kg).

Brewing tips:

Classic: 2 to 3 grams of tea or 1 TEA BAG, 200 ml of Bboiling water, 2 to 5 mins depending on preferences. Infuse with boiling water for up to 2 minutes if you want your tea stimulating and energizing; 3-5 minutes if you want it to have a soothing and relaxing effect.

After you have finished brewing, take the leaves out of the cup/teapot – if they remain in the water too long, they start releasing tannins. Tannin makes tea taste bitter and inhibits absorption of magnesium and iron which are necessary for the body to function properly.

All brewing tips is a guidance only. The best is experiment to find own way depend on preferences.
