Kangaita Tea factory make five black orthodox grades. One of the best African tea is their OP-Orange Pekoe. It is a fancy looking grade. It contains numerous tips as it is made from the finest leaves. It consists of very tightly rolled leaf resulting in a very attractive twisted and wiry appearance. The liquor is quite balanced. It is demanded more for its attractive leaf appearance and its balanced cup. The production of OP is small and we are very proud and happy to offer this unique tea range to our customers. Liquid is clear and transparent with deep orange-red colour, aroma is sweet and malty with some spiciness. Taste is lively with citrus and light floral tones. However this tea tastes perfectly fine without additives, but a splash of milk can make a very smooth and energizing beverage. Perfect for Good Morning.

Ingredients: 100% Kangaita Orthodox black tea.

Kangaita Black tea is famous African tea from Kenya. Kangaita is not a name of garden or plantation. It is name of Cooperative, Union of African`s tea producers: Kangaita Tea Factory. Factory owns 966 hectars of tea gardens and is located on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya, neighboring Mount Kenya forest. Tea gardens are located around 700meters south to Mount Kenya National Park.  The snow caped peak of Mt Kenya is clearly visible from many areas within the factory catchment. It’s on a relatively high altitude of 2036M above sea level. It’s situated between Rundu and Mukengeria rivers which serve the Ndia community. The Factory receives clean unpolluted water tapped from Mukengeria River. The soils are deep well drained brown to dark brown Nitrosols and Andsols with acidic humid top soils. This localization caused name given to Kangaita tea gardens: “Cloudy Fields”.

Classic: 2 to 3 grams, 200 mills of water at around 95+ C degrees, 3 to 5 mins depend on preferences. Infuse with boiling water for up to 3 minutes if you want your tea stimulating and energizing; 3-5 minutes if you want it to have a soothing and relaxing effect.

After you have finished brewing, take the leaves out of the cup/teapot – if they remain in the water too long, they start releasing tannins. Tannin makes tea taste bitter, inhibits absorption of magnesium and iron which are necessary for the body to function properly.
